Douglas Adams, the famous author of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, is having one of his book series, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency?, picked up by BBC for a TV series. Howard Overman will be adapting the books to make them suitable for television. Howard is known for scripting the superhero comedy-drama Misfits, with ITV Studios, and should do a fine job with this new series.

Supposedly the new series will screen on BBC4, and have a 60 minute air time. The pilot episode will have Gently trying to solve the disappearance of an old woman’s cat, which is from the first Gentley book written by Adams.
